The Las Vegas Raiders got a somewhat affirmative update on injured star Ashton Jeanty late Sunday, hours after he was helped off the field at the team facility.
Jeanty is believed to have suffered a sprained ankle, according to reports. It remains unclear how much time he could miss, but he is thought to have avoided any permanent damage.
The Raiders declined to comment on the situation.
Jeanty was helped from the field and did not appear to be putting any weight on his right leg as teammates took a knee in prayer around him.
He was injured when he and a defensive back both tried to go low to catch a pass from Kirk Cousins.
The injury occurred during the team’s first indoor practice of training camp.
