The Raiders have a bit of a headstart on Sunday’s league-mandated roster cutdown day.

The Las Vegas Raiders entered Sunday’s league‑mandated roster cutdown with a head start, having already placed cornerback Chigozie Anusiem on injured reserve after he suffered a knee injury in Thursday’s preseason victory over the Houston Texans. Wide receiver Noah Brown was released on Monday, just eight days after signing with the club, and neither player has been replaced on the roster. As a result, the Raiders carry 89 players on their active list. While most NFL teams are restricted to 90 players at this stage, Las Vegas retains an exemption for International Pathway Program participant Kansei Matsuzawa, allowing the extra spot. All teams must reduce their rosters to 53 players by Sunday at 3 p.m.
