The Las Vegas Raiders made wide receiver Jack Bech's return official Saturday, activating the second-year player from injured reserve ahead of Sunday's game against the New York Jets at MetLife Stadium. Bech has no injury designation after practicing fully all week. He suffered a broken forearm in the Sept. 27 loss to the Saints in New Orleans and underwent surgery the following day.
To clear a roster spot, the team placed defensive end Patrick Johnson on injured reserve due to a stinger. Bech had five catches for 48 yards and a touchdown in the first two games before the injury. "It's a great feeling (to be back)," Bech said this week. "Been putting in a lot of hard work the last few weeks when we haven't been able to get on the field. Mentally, physically, the trainers have been amazing. The strength staff, the coaches keeping me up to date with the playbook. But just so excited and happy to be back on the field this weekend."
The Raiders also elevated defensive tackle Cian Slone and defensive tackle Tim Keenan III from the practice squad. Keenan made two tackles on 19 snaps in his NFL debut last week. Slone has been elevated each of the past two weeks but was inactive on gameday; Johnson's absence could open the door for Slone to play Sunday. Offensive lineman Jackson Powers-Johnson remains questionable with a back injury after a limited practice Friday.
