The Las Vegas Raiders announced Monday they have opened the practice window for wide receiver Jack Bech, who has been on injured reserve since breaking his forearm on Sept. 27 against the New Orleans Saints. The move starts a 21-day clock for the team to activate the second-year player to the active roster.
Bech appeared in three games this season before the injury, recording five receptions for 48 yards and a touchdown. The Raiders face a separate deadline this week regarding wideout Dont’e Thornton Jr., with a decision on his activation required by Wednesday.
The roster news comes as the Raiders attempt to snap a four-game losing streak in which the defense has surrendered at least 30 points in each defeat. The most recent loss came Sunday at Allegiant Stadium against the Los Angeles Rams, a game in which Las Vegas trailed 28-6 at halftime.
Head coach Klint Kubiak confirmed that quarterback Kirk Cousins will remain the starter this week against the New York Jets, saying a change to Fernando Mendoza will not happen. Kubiak added that the staff is "thinking about everything" as the offense continues to struggle converting red zone opportunities into touchdowns.
