The Raiders were bludgeoned by the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday afternoon, trailing 28-6 at halftime en route to a 35-21 loss at Allegiant Stadium. The defeat marks the fourth straight for Las Vegas (3-4) after a 3-0 start, with previous losses coming against Kansas City, New England and Buffalo.
Los Angeles controlled the game on the ground, rushing for 199 yards and possessing the ball for 34:14. Running backs Kyren Williams (16 carries, 99 yards) and Blake Corum (17 carries, 93 yards) each topped 90 yards and scored touchdowns. Quarterback Matthew Stafford threw three first-half touchdowns while passing for just 195 yards, working efficiently off play action and taking only one sack.
The Raiders abandoned the run early while chasing the deficit, finishing with 17 carries for 48 yards (2.8 per attempt). Excluding a 21-yard run by Mike Washington Jr., Las Vegas managed 16 carries for 27 yards. The team has not topped 72 rushing yards since Week 3 and ranks ahead of only Green Bay in yards per carry.
Quarterback Kirk Cousins attempted 44 passes and was sacked twice, throwing second-half touchdowns to Tre Tucker (five catches, 103 yards) and Ashton Jeanty (eight catches, 61 yards). Coach Klint Kubiak said the team "didn't give ourselves a chance" by starting too slowly, adding, "You can't win in this having to throw it as much as we're throwing it."
Kubiak acknowledged the defense has allowed 148-plus rushing yards in four of the last five games, saying, "They're moving the ball on us way too well. Have got to go look at the tape." The Raiders face a quick turnaround as they try to arrest a slide that has erased their early-season momentum.
