A student was taken into custody Tuesday after a firearm was discovered at Desert Oasis High School, according to school officials. In a letter to parents, Principal Ian Salzman said administrators recovered the weapon from a student on campus.
Salzman wrote that the Clark County School District Police Department was quickly contacted and arrested the juvenile. The letter noted there were no direct threats made to students or staff and that appropriate disciplinary action will be taken.
Police said the student made identification easy by leaving his wallet at the scene.
