Sunshine is expected to return Sunday afternoon across the Las Vegas Valley after cloudy skies lingered through the morning. The clouds were caused by moisture from an upper low that passed to the south, which produced only a few sprinkles Saturday.
Conditions will remain quiet through the first half of the work week before the next weather system arrives. By Wednesday, breezy south winds with gusts up to 20 to 25 mph will develop as moisture moves into the region.
Rain chances will accompany the system Wednesday and Thursday, though forecasters expect only light rainfall amounts for the valley. The storm is projected to exit the area by Friday.
Once the system clears, drier air will return along with partly cloudy skies and cooler, below-normal temperatures. Highs are forecast in the low 70s, with some neighborhoods potentially seeing upper 60s. Winds will also subside by the end of the week.
