The Papers: Farage 'fanning the flames' and England's 'one-armed warrior'

Reform UK leader Nigel Farage has called on police to release the immigration status of suspects charged with crimes following the arrest of two men in connection with the alleged rape of a 12-year-old girl in Warwickshire. The Mirror accuses Farage of "fanning the flames".

The Times says the Warwickshire case has the prime minister and police "at odds", as Sir Keir Starmer urges the police to be as "transparent as possible". A photograph of cricketer Chris Woakes is front and centre of the paper, pictured at yesterday's test with a bat in hand and his arm in a sling.

The Daily Express leads off comments from Reform MP Lee Anderson, who says that Britain is "failing to protect" women and girls. India's test win is the feature image, after their spectacular victory over England.

The "one-armed warrior" is the Telegraph's feature image too, with the paper declaring Chris Woakes' effort "pain in vain" after England's loss. The headline reads "Parents pay £500m to beat school VAT raid", and the Times reports that private schools received millions in advance school fees as wealthy Britons tried to avoid the 20% tax raid that came into effect in January this year.

"Home Office to detain small boat migrants for deportation to France in days" says the i Paper, predicting that we will see the first migrants detained under the "one in, one out" scheme later this week.

The Financial Times reports that Tesla's board has approved the award of $30bn (£22bn) in shares to Elon Musk as part of a pay deal to retain him after continuous threats to leave from the business tycoon.

"Rail network is crumbling!" warns the Metro, writing that South Western Railway has been forced to reduce services between London Waterloo and Devon because of dry soil. The reports follow a UK summer plagued by rail disruption.

The Star's headline reads "Letby parties on bail", emblazoned over an archive image of Lucy Letby dancing at a wedding. The former nurse is serving 15 whole life terms after being found guilty last year of murdering seven babies and attempting to murder seven others.

The Sun reports that Repair Shop star Jay Blades has been charged with two counts of rape.

"Iran 'asks Taliban for spy kill list'" writes the Daily Mail, after claims that Iran's Revolutionary Guard have asked for access to a list leaked in a data breach that was subject to a two-year superinjunction in the UK. US actress Sydney Sweeney is pictured on the front page, after President Donald Trump declared her partnership with American Eagle the "hottest ad out there".

Police are warning of "mass arrests" at the forthcoming Palestine Action protest, says the Guardian. Downing Street has urged people not to attend the demonstration. The paper leads with an image of a woman battling her umbrella as Storm Floris battered parts of the UK on Monday.
