It was a historic day for UNLV football.

The Rebels dominated host UNR 42-17 in the annual Fremont Cannon rivalry game, closing the regular season at 10-2 and securing 10 wins in back-to-back seasons for the first time in program history.

Jai’Den Thomas was unstoppable, rushing for 103 yards and four touchdowns on just 11 carries as UNLV built a commanding 28-3 halftime lead en route to their fourth consecutive victory over the Wolf Pack.

The Rebels won their first six games to clinch a bowl berth for a program-record third straight year, and they could also reach the Mountain West championship game for the third consecutive season.

UNLV now sits in a four-way tie atop the conference standings with Boise State, San Diego State and New Mexico. The league will announce its championship matchup Sunday after applying its tiebreaker procedures.
