The UNLV football team will play Ohio Dec. 23 in the Frisco Bowl in Texas, organizers announced today.

UNLV, which is 4-2 all-time in bowl games, will be playing for a bowl victory in consecutive seasons for the first time in program history. This is the Rebels' third straight bowl-game appearance, also a program record.

UNLV (10-3) has one previous meeting against Ohio, beating the Mid-American Conference team 26-18 in 1988 at Sam Boyd Stadium.

The Rebels won 10 games for the second straight season and played for a third straight season in the Mountain West title game. They lost Friday to Boise State.

"I think our guys are going to be excited because they want to get back out there and play again after (falling to Boise State) Friday night," coach Dan Mullen said in a statement. "The opportunity to get out there and play in the next two weeks is going to be pretty exciting for us."
