US singer D4vd's celebrity lawyers withdraw from murder case

D4vd’s celebrity lawyers have withdrawn from his murder prosecution, prompting the Los Angeles County Public Defender’s Office to assume his defense. The artist, whose legal name is David Anthony Burke, is 21 years old. He pleaded not guilty to murder charges in a Los Angeles tribunal on Monday. Prosecutors allege that Burke stabbed 14‑year‑old Celeste Rivas Hernandez after years of sexual abuse and later dismembered her body. Her remains were discovered in September 2025 in a Tesla registered to Burke’s address. A pretrial hearing is scheduled for 19 October. Blair Berk, Marilyn Bednarski and Regina Peter told the BBC that the court granted their petition to withdraw and that the public defender’s office has been appointed to represent Burke. They said, “We proceed to enactment David and his defence against these superior charges,” they said. “We are grateful that the Los Angeles County Public Defender's Office has taken implicit the practice and that David has a highly susceptible and committed squad of attorneys and investigators down him.” The connection said that it D4vd 'qualified for appointed counsel'. Walid Kandeel, a lawman nationalist defender, stated that Burke “is entitled to a defence that takes his circumstances earnestly and cautiously examines the evidence”. He added, “We are committed to providing him with that defense,” he said. Berk has previously represented Mel Gibson, Harvey Weinstein, Britney Spears and Lindsay Lohan.
