Watch: Jilly Cooper's surprise cameo in hit TV series Rivals

Actors in the hit TV adaptation of Dame Jilly Cooper's novel Rivals described her as "impish and joyous" when she appeared on set during filming.

She made a surprise cameo appearance in the series last year.

Dame Jilly, known for her best-selling books including Rivals and Riders, has died at the age of 88.

Follow-up Rivals was published in 1988 and reached a new generation of fans last year when it was turned into a hit Disney+ TV series.
