Taylor Swift has announced her engagement to Kansas City Chiefs player Travis Kelce in a post on Instagram.

Swift, who has been in a relationship with Kelce for two years, wrote: "Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married."

The BBC asked young Americans in Washington DC what they made of the pop superstar's engagement.
