William Karlsson found his scoring touch during the Golden Knights' road back-to-back, netting a goal in each contest. He broke through with a third-period goal in Minnesota that nearly sparked a comeback, then delivered the game-winning tally in Nashville with 2:16 left in the second period on a snipe from the top of the right circle after a give-and-go with Mitch Marner.
Karlsson, Marner and Brett Howden generated chances early in the season but had struggled to finish—until this trip. Karlsson and Marner each recorded two points, while Howden had three after his two-point game Tuesday. The second line is beginning to resemble the unit that dominated in the playoffs, with Marner on a four-game point streak and Howden with four points in his last four games.
Coach Ryan Craig praised Karlsson’s effort, saying, “It’s good to see him score. Two good shots, had a breakaway (on Monday). He’s starting to shoot the puck, which we like to see.” Defenseman Rasmus Andersson added, “It was nice for him to get the first one, then an absolute snipe tonight. He’s looking real good out there.”
The 33-year-old forward, known as an Original Misfit, is overcoming past injury concerns, including chronic hamstring issues and a broken wrist from the Stanley Cup Final. His return to form is seen as a key boost for Vegas, especially as he continues to drive offense by seeking Marner or creating space for Howden to crash the net.
