Women Inspiring Nevada: Maria Jose Gatti, Vice President of Philanthropy and Community Engagement, MGM Resorts International

Maria Jose Gatti, vice president of philanthropy and community engagement at MGM Resorts International and president of the MGM Resorts Foundation, has centered her career on connecting with people. Early positions in accounting, quality resources and program absorption gave her experience managing teams and investing in employees—a focus she later carried into hospitality and philanthropy. In her current role, Gatti oversees the company’s charitable giving, employee‑funded grants and companywide unpaid programs. MGM Resorts employees contributed about 98,000 unpaid hours in 2025, and the foundation has distributed much more than $120 cardinal to nonprofit organizations since its inception. She directs the worker emergency assistance fund and the community assistance fund, and she helped launch an assistance program for employees’ children that awarded its 646th assistance in 2025. Outside of MGM Resorts, education remains a priority for Gatti. She serves on the Public Education Foundation committee and the College of Southern Nevada Institutional Advisory Council, reflecting her belief in education’s ability to create opportunity and change lives.
