2 injured after Tesla crash in central Las Vegas Valley

Two men suffered life‑threatening injuries after a Tesla collided with a building in the central Las Vegas Valley early Monday morning, sparking a fire that engulfed the vehicle. The crash occurred just after 2:25 a.m. on the 3300 block of Highland Drive, near Western Avenue, according to the Metropolitan Police Department. Investigators said a 2022 Tesla Model 3 was traveling southbound on Highland, south of the Desert Inn intersection, at a high rate of speed. The driver failed to negotiate a slight curve, veered off the roadway to the right, continued southwest, struck a curb and then hit a building. The Tesla ignited instantly upon impact. Officers extracted the passenger from the wreckage while firefighters rescued the driver. Both occupants, each 25 years old, were transported to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center with life‑threatening injuries.
