Henderson Animal Protection Services is marking Senior Pet Month by cutting adoption fees in half for animals 7 years or older during November. The shelter, located at 300 E. Galleria Drive, is open for adoptions Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., with adoptions finalized by 4:30 p.m. The facility is closed on Sundays and government-recognized holidays.
City officials said senior pets are often calmer and sometimes already trained, making them a good fit for a variety of lifestyles. The promotion follows a recent "Clear the Shelters" event that resulted in more than 120 Henderson shelter animals finding homes.
Adoptable animals can be viewed online through the shelter's website.
