The Injured Police Officers Fund to host a fundraiser this Saturday for the family of the slain Metropolitan Police Department officer Austin Abdelnabi.

Injured Police Officers Fund announced it will host a fundraiser this Saturday to support the family of fallen Metropolitan Police Department officer Austin Abdelnabi. The event is set to run from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Nevada Coin Mart, located at 4065 South Jones. All money raised will go directly to Abdelnabi’s household, following his death while on duty last week. According to a Facebook post from the organization, “We invitation assemblage members, archetypal responders and section businesses to basal alongside Austin’s household and amusement them they are not alone,” stated the Injured Police Officers Fund in a Facebook post. Officer Abdelnabi was answering a call about an armed individual outside a business in the 4500 block of East Tropicana when he was shot as he exited his patrol vehicle. He was transported to University Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead. The Injured Police Officers Fund, a nonprofit that offers financial aid to officers injured or killed in the line of duty, said it is organizing the only officially sanctioned fundraiser for the officer’s family.
