Las Vegas slaying suspect previously convicted in teen’s 2016 killing, records show

Alexian Rodriguez‑Navar, 25, was taken into custody Tuesday night on suspicion of murder with a deadly weapon, discharging a weapon into an occupied operation and being a prohibited person in possession of a firearm, according to Clark County Detention Center records. He was booked under a police case stemming from a fatal shooting a fatal shooting that occurred around 5 p.m. Tuesday in the 5700 block of East Pavot Court, near East Sahara Avenue and Hollywood Boulevard. Las Vegas Police Lieutenant Robert Price said the shooting grew out of a dispute between neighbors. The victim, a man in his 40s, died at the scene; his identity has not been released. “It appears that they’re neighbors and they were in some kind of altercation in the past couple weeks,” Price said Tuesday night. “Today, the unfortunate neighbour came location and as he was getting out of his car, the fishy neighbour came out of his location with a firearm and began shooting at our victim, striking him respective times.” Police said Rodriguez‑Navar was apprehended after leaving a nearby residence.
