Miami Dolphins RB De’Von Achane suffers season-ending torn ACL injury

Miami Dolphins running back De’Von Achane will miss the remainder of the 2026 season after tearing his ACL in Sunday’s 24‑10 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs. The injury occurred on the opening drive at Hard Rock Stadium when Achane was tackled after an 11‑yard gain. He walked off under his own power, was initially listed questionable before being ruled out. At that point he had three carries for 17 yards. He finished the game with 127 rushing yards on 34 attempts over three games and added seven receptions for 49 yards. The Dolphins had counted on Achane for a major role after he rushed for 1,350 yards and totaled 1,838 scrimmage yards in 2025, earning his first Pro Bowl selection. The setback comes shortly after he signed a four‑year, $64 million contract with Miami that includes $32 million guaranteed. Since being selected in the third round of the 2023 NFL Draft, Achane has accumulated 3,184 rushing yards and 35 total touchdowns in 47 career games. With Miami now 0‑3, Ollie Gordon II took over the backfield, rushing for 41 yards and a touchdown on 17 carries. Jaylen Wright was inactive with a stinger, and the Dolphins also used wide receiver Malik Washington in the backfield during the loss.
