Paseo Verde’s Carsynn Meyer 1 of 2 girls playing in Little League World Series

Carsynn Meyer, a 12‑year‑old from Paseo Verde, is one of only two girls competing in the Little League World Series in Williamsport, Pennsylvania. Two months earlier she participated in the Maria Pepe Little League Baseball Legacy Series, where top female players displayed their abilities. Now she returns to Williamsport with her Paseo Verde teammates as the sole female representative from her league alongside Alabama’s Kinley Rasmus. Rasmus made LLWS history by recording her fifth hit, the most ever achieved by a girl in the tournament, and she has also been among Alabama’s leading pitchers. Meyer notched her first hit of the series on Sunday, driving in a run with a single in the fifth inning of Paseo Verde’s 5‑0 victory over Tacoma. She joins a growing list of young women who have left their mark on the Little League World Series, such as Mo’Ne Davis and Ella Bruning.
