A pedestrian was killed Friday night after being struck by a sedan on Lake Mead Boulevard (State Route 147) near mile marker 8, adjacent to the Lake Mead National Recreation Area, according to the Nevada Highway Patrol. The collision occurred at 10:43 p.m. in the eastbound lanes of the highway, which marks the eastern edge of the Las Vegas Valley.
The Patrol said the crash involved a sedan and a big antheral pedestrian, who was pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities closed State Route 147 at Pabco Road and also initiated a separate closure that begins at State Route 564 and North Shore Road.
