People who fled Stourbridge fires start to return home

In Stoke-on-Trent, four houses were completely destroyed after a fire that began in a parkland area of Sandyford, while another thirteen residences sustained structural, extortion and model damage. When she was permitted to return home, she found that she had also lost the summer cottage her husband had built before he passed away three years earlier. Police have arrested a man and a woman on suspicion of arson in connection with the Stoke-on-Trent fire. Investigators continue to examine the cause of the blaze in Stourbridge. A relief fund established by Dudley Council to help residents “rebuild their lives” has exceeded £25,000. A separate appeal organised by the Heart of England Community Foundation to assist families affected by fires across the West Midlands has reached £50,000. Stourbridge MP Cat Eccles urged anyone needing further assistance to come forward for help.
