Police: Woman hospitalized after shooting near downtown Las Vegas

A woman was taken to a hospital after a shooting occurred Thursday near downtown Las Vegas, according to the Metropolitan Police Department. Officers responded to a call reporting gunfire just after 3:45 p.m. at the intersection of Mews Lane and Searles Avenue. Upon arrival, they located a female victim with an apparent gunshot wound. Emergency medical personnel transported her to a local hospital; her condition has not been disclosed.
Metro said the shooter or suspects fled the scene before officers arrived. The incident remains under investigation, and police have urged the public to avoid the area while investigators work.
