Suspect in Las Vegas grocery store shooting that left 2 dead pleads guilty

Alejandro Alfonso Estrada pleaded guilty on October 14 to two counts of murder with use of a deadly weapon in connection with a May 12 shooting at a Smith's grocery store near Maryland Parkway and Silverado Ranch Boulevard. The plea agreement calls for consecutive sentences of 28 years to life on each count in the Nevada Department of Corrections.

Estrada originally pleaded not guilty on May 18 and has remained in jail since his arrest the day after the shooting. Police say Estrada walked into the store, followed the couple down an aisle and opened fire, killing Amanda Frias Rosas, the mother of his two children, and her new husband, Victor Frias Rosas.

Court documents indicate Estrada may have planned the attack. He is scheduled to be sentenced on November 25.
