UNLV athletics has secured what it’s calling the first official multi-sport corporate jersey patch partnership in NCAA history, inking a five-season deal with Las Vegas-based Acesso Biologics ahead of the expected approval of such sponsorships.
The agreement will place the Acesso Biologics logo on uniforms for football, men’s and women’s basketball, and baseball teams.
The timing is strategic.
The NCAA is expected to vote on a corporate jersey patch rule proposal in January.
UNLV is moving ahead in anticipation of that decision, positioning itself at the forefront of a new revenue stream for college athletics programs.
“As the NCAA and Mountain West Conference move closer to allowing new avenues for revenue generation, Acesso stepped up in a big way,” said Erick Harper, UNLV’s director of athletics in a statement.
Acesso Biologics previously served as the on-field logo partner for UNLV football this season.
Michael Aquino, CEO of Acesso Biologics, emphasized the company’s connection to the university and the growing sports landscape in Las Vegas.
“As Las Vegas continues its rise as one of the nation’s elite sports cities, it’s a privilege for us to join Nevada’s premier collegiate athletics program,” he said in a statement.
The Athletic reported that the partnership is valued at $11 million
