UNLV has signed women's basketball coach Lindy La Rocque to a five-year contract extension through the 2029-30 season, the university announced Tuesday.
The Las Vegas native has led the Lady Rebels to four consecutive Mountain West regular season championships, three conference tournament titles and four postseason appearances in her initial five seasons. She has earned Mountain West Coach of the Year honors three times, becoming the first coach in conference and UNLV history to achieve that distinction within their first five seasons.
"Coach La Roque is a proven winner and transcendent leader who has developed the UNLV Lady Rebels into an elite program nationally and a fan favorite here in Las Vegas, while empowering countless student-athletes to reach their potential on and off the court," Interim President Chris Heavey said in a statement.
La Rocque holds a career record of 128-30, with her .810 winning percentage ranking fourth among all active Division I women's basketball coaches with at least five seasons leading a program.
UNLV became one of only two NCAA Division I programs to post back-to-back 30-win seasons from 2022-24. The Lady Rebels reached No. 20 in the Associated Press poll and No. 19 in the USA Today Coaches Poll during the 2023-24 season.
"This extension is a reflection of the standard set by our players, coaches and all of the support staff that touch our program on a daily basis," La Rocque said.
A news release from the university didn’t indicate the coach’s new salary. This is her second contract extension.
