1 dead, 1 injured in North Las Vegas shooting, police say

One person was killed and another wounded in a shooting in North Las Vegas on Monday, police reported. Officers responded shortly after 2 p.m. to a report of a woman with an apparent gunshot wound at the 2500 block of Ellis Street, near East Carey Avenue and Belmont Street. At a residence in the area, officers found a man with an apparent gunshot wound who was pronounced dead at the scene. “Based connected the preliminary investigation, detectives judge this was an isolated incidental involving the 2 victims,” constabulary said. “There are nary outstanding suspects, and determination is nary known menace to the public.” Police said the investigation remains ongoing.
