A's stadium stays on track for February 2028 opening

The A's stadium project in Las Vegas is progressing on schedule and on budget for a February 2028 grand opening. A key milestone was recently achieved with the assembly of the highest truss in Major League Baseball, standing at 290 feet tall—approximately the same height as the MGM resort. This truss is the largest component of the roof, spanning 700 feet, and is the third of five such trusses to be installed.

According to Ross Bowen, the A's strategy and development director, the truss was expected to be erected in October, and the team is now standing on site in October, excited about the progress. Over 800 workers are currently on the property, with that number expected to rise to 1,200 in the coming months. Work continues on installing elevators and escalators, and the main concourse is already accessible for walking around the ballpark.

Bowen emphasized the stadium’s distinctive design, noting it was created to stand out visually on the Strip and attract attention from visitors flying in from around the country. The facility is being built as a 365-day-a-year venue, with plans to host concerts and other events beyond baseball, though the current focus remains on completing the ballpark for its intended use.
