The Vegas Golden Knights fell 6-2 to the St. Louis Blues at Enterprise Center on Thursday, suffering back-to-back losses for the first time this season. The defeat mirrored Tuesday's 6-2 home loss to the Tampa Bay Lightning, as defensive breakdowns and turnovers again plagued Vegas.
St. Louis built a 2-0 first-period lead on goals from Pavel Buchnevich and Justin Barron. Brett Howden cut the deficit to one with his fourth goal in five games, but Mason McTavish restored a three-goal cushion before the period ended. Jack Eichel made it 3-2 early in the third, but Jimmy Snuggerud and Dylan Holloway scored 2:08 apart to seal the win for the Blues.
Adin Hill made 24 saves in his first loss of the season after four wins. Buchnevich's goal was the fourth consecutive game Vegas has allowed a power-play goal. Defenseman Justin Barron added three assists for a four-point night, the first of his career.
Forward Alexander Holtz recorded an assist in his season debut after being recalled from Henderson on Wednesday. He replaced Mitch Marner, who missed his first game of the season as his wife, Stephanie, prepared to give birth to their second child.
