Knights rally to earn point, but lose to Bruins in shootout

The Golden Knights earned a point Monday night at TD Garden, rallying from a 2-0 deficit before falling 3-2 to the Boston Bruins in a shootout. Boston captain David Pastrnak scored the only goal of the shootout in the third round to secure the extra point for the Bruins.

The Knights trailed 2-0 after Morgan Geekie scored on a five-minute power play in the second period. The man advantage came after forward Braeden Bowman was ejected for elbowing Boston's Matthew Poitras. Captain Mark Stone cut the lead to 2-1 early in the third period, scoring his team-leading 10th goal just eight seconds into a power play.

Forward Trevor Connelly tied the game 2-2 at 7:23 of the third period with a sharp-angled shot. Connelly had briefly left the game earlier due to an injury before returning to score. Goaltender Carter Hart made 25 saves in his return to the net after missing the previous two starts with a lower-body injury.
