Bank of America has named Wendy Franco as the new president of its Las Vegas market, the bank announced Tuesday. She succeeds Al Welch, who is retiring after 37 years with the company.
Franco will lead the bank's efforts to grow its Las Vegas market, where it holds $20.48 billion in deposits and a 21.5 percent market share as of June 30, according to FDIC data. Bank of America operates 39 financial centers and 209 ATMs with nearly 1,400 employees across the market.
A northern Nevada native and University of Nevada, Reno graduate, Franco brings more than 20 years of financial services experience. She will continue serving as Business Banking market executive, leading a team of relationship managers who help companies improve cash flow and invest for the future.
Bank of America Chair and CEO Brian Moynihan said Franco's "broad banking experience, strong client focus and deep commitment to the community make her the right leader for Las Vegas." He added that her leadership will help build momentum to grow market share and deepen connections with clients, teammates and community partners.
Franco serves on the board of directors for Future Smiles, a nonprofit providing dental care to Title I school students, and is an executive sponsor for the bank's Hispanic/Latino Organization for Leadership & Advancement employee network in Las Vegas.
