Las Vegas Metropolitan Police conducted a "DUI Blitz" across the valley on Halloween night, making 25 arrests for driving under the influence despite stormy conditions. The department released figures Monday showing officers also made three additional unspecified arrests, issued 171 citations, conducted 271 traffic stops and towed 28 vehicles.
The operation involved LVMPD patrol and traffic officers, dispatchers and a phlebotomist, along with partners from Henderson Police, Clark County School District Police and Nevada State Police. "Despite challenging conditions, LVMPD and our law enforcement partners conducted a successful DUI enforcement operation," the department said in a statement.
Authorities did not provide details on the three additional arrests. Police reminded the public to plan ahead and arrange sober rides when drinking.
