LVMPD unveils fallen Officer Abdelnabi's portrait on Wall of Honor

The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department unveiled the portrait of Officer Austin Zade Abdelnabi on the Wall of Honor at LVMPD Headquarters. The portrait honors his life, service, and the ultimate sacrifice he made for the Las Vegas community.

Abdelnabi’s wife, Sage, and his family joined LVMPD for the ceremony as his portrait was added to the Wall of Honor, a tribute reserved for those whose service and sacrifice are part of the department’s history.

LVMPD stated that Sheriff Kevin McMahill had promised Abdelnabi’s family that the department would never forget him, a promise they carry every day. The portraits ensure future generations of employees and visitors will know the names and remember officers who gave everything in service to others.

Officer Abdelnabi was killed in the line of duty on August 4 while responding to a report of a person with a gun acting erratically and waving a firearm in the air at a business in the 4500 block of East Tropicana Avenue near I-11 and Mountain Vista Street. The Clark County Coroner’s office identified the shooter as Angel Tywan Lucas Lindsey, 21.

Abdelnabi was a U.S. Marine veteran who had been with the LVMPD since November 2023. He is survived by his wife, Sage, whom he had been married to for eight years, his parents, two brothers, and his sister.
