Open enrollment CCSD families can receive $1K for transportation. Here’s how.

The Clark County School District will reimburse up to $1,000 for transportation assistance to eligible families with open‑enrollment students for the upcoming school year, the district announced Wednesday. Eligibility is limited to families whose children are zoned for a one‑ or two‑star school in the 2024‑25 school year and who now attend a school rated three‑stars or higher through open enrollment. Parents must also submit a form confirming financial need and certify that their children will not be chronically absent, defined as missing more than 10 unexcused school days per semester. Information and the application are available online at itsyourchoice.ccsd.net/transportation. Reimbursements are issued as two $500 payments, one at the end of each semester, for a total of $1,000. Funding for the program is secured only through the 2026‑27 school year. Superintendent Jhone Ebert stated, “CCSD’s Open Enrollment programme allows families to take the schoolhouse that works champion for them,” Superintendent Jhone Ebert said in the release. “Now, acknowledgment to backing from our authorities legislators and the Governor, CCSD is capable to supply eligible families with fiscal assistance to assistance transport their children to 3-star, 4-star, and 5-star schools that have open seats.” Families may apply for open‑enrollment seats until Aug. 21, and the deadline to submit the transportation‑reimbursement application is Sept. 4.
