Thursday’s Nevada Preps Deliver Standout Performances Across Soccer and Volleyball On Thursday, Nevada high school athletes posted notable individual efforts and team results in boys and girls soccer, as well as girls volleyball. In boys soccer, Gama Minsiomi of Desert Pines netted two second‑half goals to lift the Jaguars past Mater East 2‑0. Desert Pines also defeated Cheyenne 3‑0, while Durango topped Basic 2‑0. Girls soccer featured several multi‑goal outings. Presley Adams, a sophomore at Moapa Valley, scored three goals as the Pirates rolled past The Meadows 5‑0. Leah Luna of Las Vegas tallied three goals in the Wildcats’ 3‑1 victory over Sunrise Mountain. Caitlynn Nick, a senior at Palo Verde, recorded three goals in the Panthers’ 8‑0 shutout of Cimarron‑Memorial. Fallon Raphs, the freshman goalkeeper for Doral Academy, made eight saves to preserve a 2‑0 win over Spring Valley. Aspen Romero, a senior at Arbor View, contributed two goals and two assists, helping the Aggies remain undefeated with a 6‑1 triumph over Shadow Ridge. Aleah Warner, a sophomore from Bishop Gorman, added two goals as the Gaels stayed unbeaten with a 4‑1 win against Faith Lutheran. Additional girls soccer scores included Doral Academy 2‑0 over Spring Valley, Green Valley 2‑0 versus Tech, Liberty 4‑0 against Foothill, Pahrump Valley 0‑0 with Equipo, and Sierra Vista 11‑0 over Losee. In girls volleyball, Daryl Durden of Tech posted nine kills and three service aces in the Roadrunners’ 25‑9, 25‑17, 25‑16 victory over Basic. Arial Fox, a senior at Legacy, finished with nine kills as the Longhorns defeated Losee 25‑10, 25‑20, 25‑10. Alexa Madsen, a junior at Shadow Ridge, collected 12 kills, three digs and two blocks in the Mustangs’ 25‑23, 26‑24, 20‑25, 25‑20 win over Centennial. Skye Royalty, a junior at Green Valley, recorded 12 digs and five aces to aid the Gators’ 25‑6, 25‑11, 25‑14 victory against Valley. Further volleyball results showed Green Valley sweeping Valley 3‑0, Legacy defeating Losee 3‑0, Rancho blanking Sloan Canyon 3‑0, Shadow Ridge edging Centennial 3‑1, and Tech shutting out Basic 3‑0.
