Golden Knights forward Victor Olofsson will return to the lineup Thursday against the Detroit Red Wings after missing the past month with an upper-body injury. Olofsson has been out since Oct. 6 when he was cross-checked into the boards by Seattle's Ben Meyers and had to be helped to the locker room. The 31-year-old was initially listed as week-to-week.
Before the injury, Olofsson was off to a strong start with four goals in the first four games, including two against the Kraken. He will slot back in at third-line right wing alongside Trevor Connelly and Tomas Hertl. Connelly has scored goals in back-to-back games during the team's current road trip.
To make room for Olofsson's activation from injured reserve, the Knights reassigned forward Jonas Røndbjerg and defenseman Viliam Kmec. Olofsson's return moves Braeden Bowman back to the fourth line. Bowman was ejected for elbowing in Monday's game against Boston, though the NHL announced no supplemental discipline.
The Knights have started their four-game road trip with consecutive strong efforts, including a 6-for-6 penalty kill performance Tuesday in Pittsburgh. Hertl scored the winning goal with less than a minute remaining in that victory over the Penguins.
