A 32-year-old man is in custody following a fatal shooting earlier this month outside a business in the central Las Vegas Valley. Levante Davidson was arrested Wednesday and booked into the Clark County Detention Center on one count of open murder with a deadly weapon, according to a Metropolitan Police Department release.
The shooting took place just after 8:05 p.m. on Oct. 4 in the 300 block of South Decatur Boulevard, near Meadows Lane. Responding officers initially had difficulty locating the crime scene because the victim, 43-year-old William Westry, had been driven to a hospital by another person. He was pronounced dead shortly after arrival, the Clark County coroner's office confirmed.
Davidson is scheduled to make his first court appearance Friday at the Regional Justice Center.
