Teri Cuthill of Carson City identified her son, Kevin Andrews, as the 28-year-old man killed in a rollover crash just off Interstate 11 near mile marker 9 on Thursday. The Clark County coroner’s office confirmed his identity on Monday, though the cause and manner of death remain pending.

According to a Nevada Highway Patrol trooper’s email, law enforcement responded to a single-vehicle crash at 5:21 p.m. in which an unrestrained adult male was ejected from his vehicle and died at the scene. Cuthill said her son was traveling from Arizona back to Carson City to check himself into rehab.

Andrews was set to become a father later this year, a fact his mother highlighted in a GoFundMe post where she wrote, 'Losing Kevin so suddenly has turned our lives upside down. No one expected this, and our family is now trying to grieve while also facing the immediate costs that come with his passing. Kevin also has a baby on the way, which makes this loss even more heartbreaking for everyone who loves him.'

Cuthill said Andrews leaves behind his mother, stepfather, and two brothers. She and another relative noted his love for fishing, spending time by bodies of water, and dogs, including his work at a local dog shelter in Arizona. His aunt, Andrea Andrews, recalled his kindness toward animals on Facebook.
