Dog killed, 1 person hospitalized after townhome fire in Clark County
At approximately 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, Clark County Fire Department crews were dispatched to a two‑story townhome on Monte Carlo Drive, located near the junction of Desert Inn and Sandhill roads, after two occupants evacuated the structure. Upon arrival, firefighters encountered the first floor fully engulfed in flames. The blaze was confined to the end unit and did not extend to adjacent residences. One resident sustained burns to a hand and was transported to a local emergency department for treatment. During a secondary search of the second floor, firefighters discovered a deceased dog; Animal Protective Services was subsequently notified. As conditions deteriorated, a second alarm was requested, but it was later canceled once crews had knocked down the fire. Las Vegas Fire & Rescue provided assistance, bringing the total number of fire personnel on scene to 46. The cause of the fire has not been released.
