Aaden Moyer of Bishop Gorman’s boys cross country team was voted the Nevada Preps Boys Athlete of the Week. The honor was announced by the Las Vegas Review-Journal following a weekly poll that featured four standout high school athletes from the week of Sept. 28–Oct. 3.

Moyer, a junior, won the 5-kilometer CSN Invitational at Floyd Lamb Park on Saturday, finishing 21 seconds ahead of his closest competitor with a time of 15 minutes and 23 seconds. His individual performance helped Bishop Gorman’s team secure second place in the event.

The other nominees for the award included Nah’lage Butler of Valley High football, Mateo Munoz of Tech boys soccer, and Matthias Rantissi of Coronado football. Voting closed at noon on Thursday, with results reported the following Friday.

The Nevada Preps Athlete of the Week recognition highlights top individual performances across Southern Nevada high school sports, with Moyer earning the honor for his achievement in cross country.
